The Stability requirements to be applied depend on the Length, Boat Design Category and Type of craft. Compliance can be demonstrated by Calculation, test or by various approximate calculations given in the standards. JB will nearly always recommend that a full calculation, using a hydrostatic model, is undertaken as this is the most reliable and simple method. The following tables are given  for guidance (Ref. ISO 12217-1/2):
