We have experience in dealing with marine structures of various scales, from the individual stiffening arrangement for a single crane installation, through to the design of the hull, deck and superstructure for large high speed planing craft.

We have experience in working with Fibreglass, high modulus Composites, Aluminium and Steel design and construction. 

We can work to classification society rules, such as Lloyds Special Service Craft rules. We can undertake quick calculations, or detailed analysis, depending on the requirements. JB has experience with various small ship and boat structures and is experienced with optimising the Weight/Strength/Stiffness/Cost requirements of various designs.

We can undertake the structural design to meet ISO 12215-5 for the Recreational Craft Directive for all materials. 

We have a significant database of material properties and can design composite solutions to meet your technical capabilities, including hand-layup or infused laminates.

JB offers a full design service which can include the preparation of manufacturing drawings of structural components, if required. This can also include plate development or plate expansion and the generation of complete laser-cut kits, if this is required.
